Host a Viewing Party

PRIVATE VIEWING PARTIES

The idea of viewing parties is to provide a safe haven for survivors to come forward, talk and meet other survivors. Viewing parties are intended to be private home-based events only. Please do not show the movie in a theater, auditorium, church or any other public venue without an agreement with us. There is a fee to show the movie if it is not in a private home.

For those of you who are having private viewing parties at home, we suggest that you go around the room and introduce yourselves and give a brief summary of who you are, your story and why you are there. Then after you all watch the movie, we suggest that you go around the room again and share your experiences and how you intend to Break the Silence, Break the Cycle and/or Join the Movement and what that means to you. After everyone has shared, hugs are always good.

It is a good idea if you can, to have a therapist or counselor present. Some hosts have food, some are in the day and some are at night. The most important thing about showing the film in your home is that you provide a safe place to talk, start conversations and make commitments to heal.

You can also print out the PRINTABLE ORDER FORM to have at your parties and encourage others to get a copy of the movie.
