Wow! God Bless You Angela Shelton!! That is one powerful video. Just watched it with my morning coffee. How great to be able to put that up online for us to watch and listen to. What inspiration, hope, and fighting courage is there!
Listening to someone tell their story is so ….(searching for the right word)…… empowering, encouraging, validating, helpful, hopeful, reassuring, calming (okay, I need alot of words!)
I say it’s calming because there always seems to be that voice inside that doubts the truth…that makes me seem like maybe I’m over-reacting, exaggerating. And then I listen to you, or someone else tell their story…and it’s like a big hug, or a soft blanket of belief wrapped around me, reassuring me that my memories and reactions are true and real.
You’ve had that effect on me since I first saw you on 48hours.

Thank you Angela. I have to admit that when I was listening to her and you hit the chair I actually screamed “stop” because I got so uncomfortable hearing the pain. Then the therapist in me came thru and I was like “wait, If this ever comes out on video I would totally get a couple copies for clients” because it would help the clients who can’t go to see you themselves! You make it sound so easy to scream and let it out. I LOVE what you do and I think it is of immense benefit. I have a question though…how do you demand your light back, scream and not be silent, and at the same time no litter your stuff on others?

hey Angela!
I have to say you are AMAZING.
when you did the example of letting all of the anger out, with the bat, beating that old dusty chair.. It sent chills through my spine. Definitely an idea that im going to try. I get scared that Im going to hurt someone if I try something like that. Your speech was fantastic.. you touched me again, you are such an inspiration.. and I will keep on telling my story, and writing it down, and not allow it to hold power over me any longer. THANK YOU ANGELA!!!
